In cooperation with the staff at Benicia State Recreation Area, we have reprinted Exploring Benicia State Recreation Area by Jean Chapman.

This book was originally published in 1977 by Solano Community College.  It was intended for the use of elementary school teachers, but is of interest to anyone who would like to know about the flora and fauna of the marshes and mud flats, the geologic history, weather, and other related topics.

The reprint includes a current bird list provided by members of the Napa-Solano Audubon Society, and updated lists of recommended books and educational resources.

It is available for sale at $14.75 at Bookshop Benicia, the Benicia Historical Museum, and the Benicia Capitol State Historic Park, or from Jepson Chapter book chair Susan Dean, (707) 745-3552
